Day 3 saw the end for our boys at the 2023 EA National Showcase. The day started with a hard battle for our 07B Premier vs GFI South, ending in a 2-4 loss. The 10B Premier battled Liverpool FC IA out of Michigan but came up short with a 3-1 loss. The 08B Premier had a back-and-forth battle with Colorado Rush with a 1-0 lead and then a fight back after being behind 2-1 to end 2-2 and were unlucky not to win at the end. The 11B Premier finished a successful event with a 2-2 draw with NWSC who currently lead the Midwest conference. Led 2-1 with mins to play but a late penalty saw the points shared. Goals by Enyll Barrios, Jose Gomez, George Garcia, TJ Bishop, Ezra Jones, Robby Mitchell and Sam Alzate.

Day 2 at EA National Showcase in the books! A tougher day against several top clubs from the Mid-America conference. The day started with 08B Premier taking the lead early 1-0 on a header over FC Dutchmen but the game ended in a 3-1 loss. The 10B Premier were up next against a tough Tonka Fusion team. A hard-fought battle that ended 0-0 with a good point gained amidst a few missed chances. The 11B Premier played a quality Chicago Fire side that ended in a 4-0 loss. The day was rounded out with a loss from the 07B Premier to Tonka Fusion. Goal by Austen Snellings. Clean sheet by Noah Chesnut.

Day 1 at the Elite Academy National Showcase is in the books! The day started with our 08B Premier team facing off against NWSC from the Midwest Conference. After leading 1-0, the match ended 1-1. Then, our 07B Premier battled last years top performer in the Mid-America Indy Premier, losing a hard-fought battle 4-0. Later in the afternoon the 11B Premier had a resounding victory over GFI South from the Midwest 4-0. Last in the day, 10B Premier led 2-0 over SC Wave of the Mid-America at halftime, but Wave fought back to win 4-2. Goals on the day scored by Erick Perez, Robby Mitchell, Diego Govea, Orion Mejia (2), George Garcia and Derick Mejia. Clean sheet by Neymar Barron-Franco.

We are super proud of 2004 boys graduate Eli Salinas. He joined Georgia Storm at U14 and played for Coach Bill (III) on our Storm 04B Premier team in National League. Eli is currently in his first year with Limestone College that competes in the NCAA D2 SAC conference. They just won the conference championship for the first time in their history. Wish Eli luck in the national tournament as they are the #1 seed in the region.

⚡️LAST OF THE TRYOUTS⚡️ Many thanks to all the parents and players that have already been to our tryouts this season… This is by far the biggest tryout we’ve ever experienced. Admittedly we are a lot smaller soccer club than the mega clubs that dominate much of the rest of the state but for Georgia Storm this has been a banner year. Our PDA program alone has 3 times as many players signed up as last year. We’ve got multiple boys age groups that have (3) teams and some age groups that could form (4) teams if we had the staff to coach all of them. Our girls program for the first time ever has multiple age groups with more than one team… that’s great progress for Storm ☔️ Good news bad news… We’ve got to add staff to handle the growth. #georgiastorm #iamthestorm #tryouts
