Storm Youth Academy

Overview

Storm's Youth Academy program is the next level from recreational level soccer, as well as the next step in our Player Development Pathway pyramid after Player Development Academy (PDA). Our Youth Academy is broken into a younger program for our 9U through 14U teams that play in the Fall and Spring, where the primary goal of the program is to provide players with a technical mastery and a basis of tactical understanding.

Our youngest players in the 9U through 12U program play in a club-to-club friendly match schedule where we schedule another club on a matchday and all of our boys and girls teams from our club play matches against our opposition. We typically have 12-14 matchdays. Once a player reaches, 13U, the teams play in a variety of leagues, including USYS National League, Southeastern Clubs Champions League, and Georgia Soccer where teams results begin to come into play and teams get placed into divisions that they can both gain promotion from as well as be relegated to a lower level.

Our High School age players in 15U through 19U play only a fall league season, though the teams may play a tournament schedule in the spring as well. This is typically dependent on player availability and conflicts with their high school teams, and if a tournament schedule can fit into the busy spring. Our primary goals are

1) Once players reach this age is to provide them a firm tactical basis as they are beginning to play at levels where you play to win vs play to develop with high school, college, and semi-pro as their next levels of play.

2) Provide players and their parents with the necessary knowledge to navigate the sometimes confusing college recruiting landscape. We want to help our players as best we can to be able to achieve their goals of playing in college.
